First-grader Elijah Jackson and paraprofessional Mrs. Gidget started a tradition of authoring a book together. This year's edition is "Wanda the Anaconda." Mrs. Gidget and Elijah researched anacondas and incorporated facts they learned into their story. Mrs. Gidget even illustrated the book and gifted copies to Elijah's first-grade class!
Thank you Mrs. Gidget for the deep impact you make on our students' lives . Check out their story here:

We are so incredibly proud of how hard our students worked on their ACAP tests. Thank you parents for getting your children to school on time each day. SES rocked the test!

We are proud to announce Aria Fetherland as our 24-25 Learning Leader!
Aria is a natural born leader who shows up everyday with a positive attitude and willing to lend a hand when needed, helps students in class when they get stuck on a question, and is a friend to everyone she meets! She’s involved in PACE, broadcast, and was picked for safety patrol because of her responsible nature. Aria just won first place in her video submission in the 5-6th grade individual division! Outside of school, she’s in a theater program and she said she’s trying to start a tutoring program from home where she helps classmates who need help with assignments! Aria is a perfect example of what it means to be a learning leader!

April 7-11 is National Assistant Principal Week, and we are so thankful for the positivity and sparkle our Mrs. Corley brings to SES! Mrs. Corley is always willing to jump in wherever she is needed and invests time in forming relationships with our students. Here she is sharing some of her "awesome sauce" with a kindergarten class, but wherever she goes, she shares her excitement for learning.
Thank you, Mrs. Corley, for all the ways you help us at Semmes Elementary, and for being the light that you are!
